CHR CLAIM GOLD AND BRONZE AT THIS YEARS NATIONAL HOSPITAL RADIO AWARDS 2019

The Hospital Broadcasting Association 2019 Award Ceremony has taken place at The Best Western Hotel in Stoke on Trent on Saturday 30 March 2019. Coventry Hospital Radio is celebrating after claiming awards in two categories.

Dan Sambell was awarded with GOLD in the category for Male Presenter of the Year. This is Dan Sambell’s second award since being with Coventry Hospital Radio. His first was in 2016 when he was awarded Bronze. Meanwhile husband and wife team Colin and Annette Gutteridge took claim to the BRONZE award for Best Programme with Multiple Presenters. Two other members of Coventry Hospital Radio were in the top ten for their category. Andrew Colby was in for Male Presenter of the Year in competition with Dan Sambell; this was an achievement itself as it’s the first time we have had two presenters fighting it out in the same category. Lee Baker’s entry for Best Station Promotion came within the top five but didn’t quite make an award.

Meanwhile back in Coventry Simon Tidmarsh and Laura Dunn produced a very special show at 9pm until midnight on the awards evening with all the inside gossip and revealing on air who had won each award. They also had requests from staff and patients who wished Coventry Hospital Radio all the best on the night. So we are sure you would like to join us in celebrating the brilliant achievement of Coventry Hospital Radio. Missed any of this show then you can catch up here.

Kristine Davies, Head of Voluntary Services for the Trust said “I am extremely proud of all of the Coventry Hospital Radio volunteers.  It is a great achievement to be shortlisted but to win two awards on one evening is amazing.  I’d like to congratulate Dan, Colin and Annette for winning an award and Lee and Andrew for being shortlisted.”
