Become part of our team as a Ward Visitor

We are seeking warm, friendly individuals with excellent communication skills for the following roles:

– Visiting patients at their bedside to inform them that they can listen to Coventry Hospital Radio free of charge via the Spark tsl bedside terminal, our app, or online at www.coventryhospitalradio.org.

– Informing patients about our 24-hour broadcasts through the aforementioned mediums and promoting our FREE Request line, explaining how they can have a request played on air.

– Assisting patients in registering on the Spark tsl System to enable them to listen to Coventry Hospital Radio and demonstrating how to use the Bedside Terminal.

– Distributing Coventry Hospital Radio Leaflets and Spark tsl Headphones.

– Noting any non-functional Bedside terminals and reporting them to Spark tsl for repair.

– Respecting patient dignity and recognizing when patients prefer not to be disturbed.

– Volunteers will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check with UHCW Voluntary Services and disclose any health-related issues before commencing their role with Coventry Hospital Radio.

What skills are needed?

No specific skills are required as comprehensive training will be provided. We simply ask that volunteers are friendly, enthusiastic, approachable, and maintain a cheerful disposition.
