Become part of our team as a Ward Visitor
Coventry Hospital Radio (CHR) is always on the lookout for friendly, enthusiastic people who can spare a few hours each week to join the team as a ‘Ward Visitor.’ If you’re over 16 and want a rewarding way to spend your free time, why not apply to be part of the award-winning CHR team?
We’re looking for warm, friendly people with great communication skills to join us in a variety of roles. These include visiting patients to let them know they can enjoy Coventry Hospital Radio for free through the Spark tsl bedside terminal, our app, or online, and telling them about our 24-hour broadcasts and free Request line.
You’ll help patients register on the Spark tsl System, show them how to use the Bedside Terminal, hand out leaflets and headphones, and report any broken terminals. It’s important to respect patients’ dignity and be mindful if they’d rather not be disturbed.
Volunteers will need to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check with UHCW Voluntary Services and share any relevant health information before starting. No special skills are required—training is provided—we just ask that you’re friendly, enthusiastic, approachable, and keep a cheerful attitude.
