Coventry Hospital Radio presenter Dan Sambell has been nominated in the Best Male Presenter category at the National Hospital Radio Awards for the third year in a row. Dan, who lives in Rugby, was in the top five in the Best Male Presenter category last year and received the bronze award in 2016.
The National Hospital Radio Awards are organised by the Hospital Broadcasting Association, a national charity that supports and promotes hospital broadcasting in the UK, and recognises the best and most creative individuals and teams in hospital radio.
Dan spoke about the moment he found out he had been nominated: "While I've been shortlisted before, I was still really shocked when I found out, as there are some great presenters across the UK. The shortlist gets announced at midnight on New Year's, so it was a great way to start the year. Dan also works in the industry as a producer and one of his biggest passions is being behind the microphone: "Monday is one of my favourite parts of the week because I get to go on air with Coventry Hospital Radio. It's my chance to interact with patients and talk about subjects that matter to them."
Kristine Davies, Head of Voluntary Services said: "I'm so proud that Dan has been nominated for a third year in a row - it's a fantastic achievement and he really deserves it. "He is part of a hardworking and dedicated team of volunteers who regularly give up their free time to entertain our patients".
